After a very successful week racing in Panorama, Canada; we flew to Denver in Colorado, USA.

Here we trained at Winter Park with the NSCD (National Sports Center for the Disabled). Kurt was our coach and we had so much fun training GS and Slalom with the rest of the Americans. We would also like to thank Starline for your support and making our visit welcoming. We both said we would love to come back :)

We then moved with the other NSCD athletes to Copper Mountain, about an hour away to enter into 4 more races.

There we competed in 2 Super-g races. Our best results yet! Winning by 2 and 5 seconds per run.

We were proud of our performance and aiming to repeat and better this in the races throughout the season. We also gained our first 0.00 points which means we weren't just the fastest Vi's but the fastest females in the race across all categories (stand ups and sit skiers).  From our results it has proven we can work well together in a short space of time training and focusing our efforts on being relaxed but well prepared for each race series. For that reason we left the states missing the Slalom races and flew back to the UK on Wednesday.

We now have 2 days at home before travelling out to Pitztal and Kuhtai on Saturday morning! We are looking forward to catching up with Kelly and Charlotte, our coach and the development squad who have been training in Austria :-)

Jade’s introduction to competition skiing came in the Summer of 2007 when she took part in the British Disabled Ski Team’s squad trial at the Manchester Chill Factore. By the end of the weekend she was offered a place on the BDST development squad and then attended one or two training camps every year whilst still at school.
